Aliases are exactly that. Let's face it there are a lot of repetitive things we say while we chat. If we had a way of just typing a few letters to accomplish the same thing, it would be great, right? Well, with aliases, you have the power to do exactly that. Let's say I want to identify with nickserv. We will create an alias for that purpose so all you have to do is type in /id
So, go to aliases, open it up, scroll to the last line, and press your enter key. Type this in /id /msg nickserv identify {your password}
And you are done. Press the OK key at bottom and you are on your way. Each time you are asked to ID from chanserv, you just type in /id on the command line. And the rest will be done automaticaly for you. You can make aliases for just about anything you can imagine. It greatly simplifies your online experience with mIRC. Below you will find some examples and explanations for wht they do, in the next few weeks.
